Terms and Conditions
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully.
By purchasing any product or service from MPLCS (Mornington Peninsula Language and Culture Studies), you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Enrolments are as per Victorian Government School Terms timetable. During school holidays, if teacher and students are agreed the course will be booked as agreement and paid in advance.
If you can not attend all term classes and you advise this when you booked your classes at the start of each Term, you will pay the classes attend.
If you cancel your classes in an on going Term, we will apply a $50 administration fee per student, to cover the cost of teacher and classroom bookings.
Enrolment forms and payment must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the course in order to secure your place. Casual lessons excepted.
Your enrolment will be confirmed after we have received the full payment.
We accept payments in instalments, in this case, your enrolment will be confirmed after we receive the 1st payment.
We will provide payment details via email.
Group courses require a minimum of 2 students to run.
In case that in a 2 students group, one of them leaves the course, the classes will be cancelled with a refund or other agreement.
Depending on the student's wishes, classes with 2 students can run for 1.5 hours each week, or 2 hours a week and priced accordingly.
Classes with 3 or more students run for 2 hours.
If you cannot attend a lesson, you must notify us by phone or SMS. Please leave a voicemail if your call is not answered.
If during the Term a 2 or 3 students group goes down, the fees of the course will be adjusted to the number of students that continue with the classes.
Students can attend a group class if there are places available.
Casual lessons must be booked 1 week in advance.
Conversation classes run for 1 hour.
Classes can be taken weekly, fortnightly, monthly or less frequently depending on the group.
Tuition fees must be paid in full prior to commencement of lessons.
We also accept payments in instalments, in which case the classes will be confirmed with the 1st payment done.
Cancellation or changing of lesson times must be advised at least 24 hours before the lesson via SMS or a phone call. Please leave a voicemail if your call is not answered.
Email cancellations or changes will not be accepted.
Two cancellation per each 11 lessons will be accepted (pack 10+1 Private Tuition).
Failure to notify us of a cancellation or change will result in a forfeiture of the lesson/tuition fee.
Cancellations and Changes
If you wish to cancel your enrolment in a course, you must notify us in writing at least 10 business days.
If along the course already booked, the number of students enrolled goes down, the fees of the course will be adjusted to the number of students that will follow with the classes.
Cancellations due to exceptional unforeseen events may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Students can request a refund or a credit note to apply to future courses.
“No Shows” will be deemed cancellations and result in the lesson/tuition fee being forfeited.
We will apply a $50 administration fee per student, to cover the cost of teacher and classroom bookings.
Students who notify that they will miss more than 24 hrs prior to the class can receive a maximum of 2 make-up classes per group of lessons reserved.
These 2 make up classes will be enjoyed inside of another group class with the same level or 40 minutes of an individual class in case we can not provide it in another group.
Students will be told what has been done in class and receive homework to prepare for the next class.
Missed classes are not refundable.
Workshops and Cultural Events
We run several language workshops and cultural events throughout the year.
These must be booked and paid at least 2 weeks in advance to secure your booking.
We offer a 10% discount for all online courses.
Buy a pack of 10 private classes with adult price aply ($80 per hour) and receive one free (1 hour).
Private tuition lessons can be shared with another person to share the fee.
Students aged 20-29 years receive a discount off the full adult price of one-to-one private tuition as per the fee schedule on our website.
Group courses: New students can join a group class in person or online for free. This offer is limited to one free class per student/term.
Private tuition: New students can benefit from a discount to trial a class. This offer is limited to a one hour lesson at $60 per student/term.
Textbooks and Course Materials
You may need to purchase textbooks and course materials, depending on your level.
You must pay for textbooks and course materials prior to the final lesson.
We have gift vouchers for sale in several denominations. $55, $100, $200 and $295.
Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the purchase date.
Any of our products, including Gift Vouchers, are not redeemable for cash.
MPLCS makes every effort to ensure that all information given is correct at the time of publication.
